2-Mediation-3Family Mediation. The family mediator will meet with you and your spouse together and separately to help you clarify and articulate your co-parenting goals and values, to create a foundation for your co-parenting that’s in yours and your children’s best interest and to help you develop a parenting plan for submission to the court. The family mediator will work with you to help to begin identifying where and when your communication breaks down and you begin to trigger each other negatively and why that is not in the long-term interest of you or your children. The family mediator will remain a valuable resource once your divorce is complete. After the divorce, when you need to update your parenting plan as your children grow and your needs change, the family mediator will be available to help you resolve the inevitable difficulties without going to court that can arise when co-parenting.
